The GenHook™ is an electrically-powered temporary crane in on- and offshore wind turbines nacelles, and assembled in only three parts (lifts) using the Heli-Hook™ crane. Once assembled it has a hoisting capacity of 29.8 tonnes to enable generator, gearbox, transformer, blade and blade bearing replacements on most on- and offshore turbines in the 1.5MW and 1oMW range. The GenHook™ can also be used for lifting smaller major components on larger turbines, such as generators, and to support the installation of the RotorHook™ and BoxHook™.
The GenHook™ is designed as Zero-Emission-Crane™, fully powered by the wind turbine back feed power circuit. As an option the GenHook™ can be supplied with a battery pack to increase hoisting speed. With a battery pack the crane has a hybrid power supply. During lowering, energy is regenerated to charge the batteries. Any superfluous energy can also be fed back into the power circuit of the Wind Turbine.
Interfaces for a wide variety of wind turbines can be provided with the GenHook™. Normally supplied in one standard ISO 40ft container, when combined with the Heli-Hook™ crane or interface components.
