“When I was offered the job after my graduation, I was already convinced that this was the job for me”

“I started at KenzFigee as a University Graduate doing my Thesis research. Quickly I came in contact with the Design Engineers working on various projects. I got a glance of the challenging and highly dynamic nature of their jobs.

THE HIGHLY DYNAMIC AND CHALLENGING NATURE OF THE DESIGN ENGINEER

The Engineering department is not as large-scale as you would see in other companies in the industry. Because of this, I noticed the Design Engineer is responsible for a large part of the structural crane design, doing structural calculations, power calculations, fatigue calculations, motion analyses and much more, to end up with a good crane design. Since the cranes get assembled and tested at the KenzFigee premises, you can actually see the product functioning at the end of a project.

DIVERSITY OF THE WORK MOTIVATES ME

When I was offered the job after my graduation, I was already convinced that this was the job for me! In my career at KenzFigee, I have worked on many different lifting equipment beyond the regular crane, but also knuckle boom cranes, gangways, a launch and recovery system, an A-frame and several Up-Tower cranes. This again, emphasizes on the diversity of the work I do, since every type of crane has its own technically challenges.

MY ROLE AS A SENIOR SYSTEM DESIGN ENGINEER

Currently, my role in the company as Senior System Design Engineer is mainly focused on expanding KenzFigee’s Up-Tower crane range. We work in a project environment where I’m in the lead of the structural/mechanical aspect of the project. This means that I organize the work, make sure all team members got the required information, and have close technical discussions with the client. The solution we provide for the wind turbine industry is unique, and clients are very enthusiastic about our product. It is great to work with motivated people, and together with co-workers, clients and suppliers to make the project to a great success.”
