“As a Systems Engineer I have a very varied role”

“One day I may be working in the office, and the next day I could be offshore on an installation working on our offshore cranes, or up a wind turbine with our up-tower cranes. Working for KenzFigee is a great place to use my existing talents but also a great place to learn new ones.

With a background in automation I am part of the controls team and head up the software and electrical disciplines for KenzFigee’s UK office. This means I am involved in modifications and fault finding on existing systems, and also help to develop and commission new systems. This coupled with my love of adventure and challenges makes working for KenzFigee a very rewarding workplace. It is always a great feeling to complete a project, or solve an issue for a client and see it making a difference to their operations.

With cranes playing a major role in operations in most sectors, it is vital that they are well maintained and issues solved quickly. When I arrived on offshore platforms a while ago, the crew joked that I was the most important person on the installation, as without their crane, nothing happens. As daunting as it can sometimes be to be the ‘only’ person on site, being part of KenzFigee means you have great support from the rest of your team and a wealth of experience and skills to draw from when needed.”
