Blue Offshore and KenzFigee work together on the design and fabrication of a tensioner for Boskalis’ crane vessel ‘GIANT 7’

Blue Offshore and KenzFigee, both companies of the MeeMaken Group, have joined forces to fabricate a new rental tensioner for Blue Offshore’s client Boskalis in a record time of only 6 weeks.

The tensioner, designed by Blue Offshore in cooperation with Selmers -also a MeeMaken company- is currently at the KenzFigee production facility in Zaandam, the Netherlands for final assembly, commissioning and testing.

After completion of the work in Zaandam, the tensioner will be mobilized to the crane vessel ‘GIANT 7’ of Boskalis in Rotterdam during the course of week 37.

The tensioner, controlling a subsea cable or pipe during subsea operations, will be placed on top of Blue Offshore’s loading tower installed on the ‘GIANT 7’ and deployed on the Borssele Alpha offshore wind project.
