The ‘Eagle’ has landed
This morning, 30 August 2019, the 1997-built Figee Lemniscate crane ‘Adelaar’ (Eagle), with a capacity of SWL 36t, has arrived at the quayside of KenzFigee in Zaandam.
After more than 22 years of extensive use at the Rietlanden Terminals in Amsterdam, the ‘Adelaar’ will undergo an overhaul. Next week the KenzFigee specialist service engineers will start the overhauling of the luffing drive.
The luffing drive will be completely disassembled and transported into our workshop facility where it will be taken apart to change out the bearings, shafts, gears and to overhaul the gearbox. After reassembling, aligning and a dry test run the luffing drive will be reassembled.
Positioning the Lemniscate crane on a pontoon alongside our quayside, in front of our warehouse, is an ideal situation to efficiently execute crane services. All specialists, spare parts and other materials needed for the maintenance work are immediately on site and/or available.
The overhaul of the Lemniscate crane will take approximately 1 month, after which the ‘Adelaar’ will be towed back to the Rietlanden Terminals in Amsterdam to resume her duties for many more years to come.
